Roundy's Opens New Copps Unit in Green Bay

Roundy’s said its new energy efficient replacement store features expanded choices across all departments.

Aug 11, 2008

Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc. opened the doors to its latest concept Copp’s supermarket in Green Bay, a 60,000-plus square-foot replacement store that offers customers more choices across all departments, as well as energy efficient lighting.

The new 24-hour store offers a sushi bar, fresh sandwiches, salad and olive bars, an expanded fresh produce department, bulk foods, drive-thru pharmacy, wine and spirits, and full-service meat, seafood, deli, bakery, and floral departments, the grocer said.

Roundy’s said nearly 1,200 people attended the "Summer Fun in the Sun" themed grand opening party.

During the ribbon cutting to christen the new store, Vivian King, Roundy’s director of public affairs, along with store director Jeff Brasel and director of area operations Tom Pozorski, presented $1,250 to Freedom House, a shelter for homeless families; and $1,250 to Golden House, a shelter for victims of domestic abuse.

With nearly $4 billion in sales and 21,000 employees, the Milwaukee-based Roundy’s operates 152 retail grocery stores under the Pick 'n Save, Copps, Rainbow, and Metro Market banners in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
