Hy-Vee hosted its first-ever Charity BratFest - a community-wide, larger-than-life cookout over Labor Day weekend - along with presenting sponsor Johnsonville, to benefit Variety-The Children's Charity of Iowa.

Throughout the long weekend, volunteers and local celebrity grillers served up fresh Johnsonville brats in the Big Taste Grill -- "the world's largest touring grill" - from various venues, including the West Des Moines Conference Center, the West Des Moines Hy-Vee store, and 15 additional Des Moines-area Hy-Vee locations.

One-hundred percent of the proceeds raised from the event were donated to the children's charity.
