Del Monte Fresh Teams with CBS Sports on Promo

Sept 3, 2008

Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A., Inc has teamed up with the CBS Sports Store this season to help retailers score big and drive produce sales via the "Ultimate Fan" tailgate contest.

Between now and October 31, select Del Monte fresh-cut items and tomato products will feature an on-pack coupon for great discounts at the CBS Sports Store. To be eligible for a sweepstakes, consumers must include Del Monte fresh fruits and vegetables at their next tailgate party, video tape it and prove that they are the "Ultimate Fan."

"We are offering our retailers an innovative promotion in which they can generate incremental sales this football season," said Dionysios Christou, Del Monte Fresh Produce's v.p. of marketing.

Noting that the partnership with CBS Sports Store will expand the Coral Gables, Fla.-based company's target audience, Christou said football season is the ideal time to focus on good times and delicious yet healthy foods.

The grand prizewinner in the contest will receive a flat screen HDTV.
