Roundy's A Sponsor of Milwaukee's 'Bronze Fonz' Statue

Aug 22, 2008

Roundy's Supermarkets was one of the several sponsors on hand to help dedicate the "Bronze Fonz," Milwaukee's newest statue that pays tribute to Arthur "The Fonz" Fonzarelli, the leather-clad biker and mechanic made famous by actor Henry Winkler in the 1970s hit television sitcom, "Happy Days," set in Milwaukee.

Roundy's name will be etched on the donor plaque displayed on the Bronze Fonz, which sits on Milwaukee's Riverwalk, on the East side of the Milwaukee River just South of Wells Street.

Several members of the cast of "Happy Days" attended the dedication of the Bronze Fonz, including: Tom Bosley and Marion Ross (Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham); Erin Moran  (Joanie Cunningham); Anson Williams (Potsie); Don Most (Ralph Malph); and Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams (Laverne and Shirley of the "Happy Days" spinoff of the same name).

Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc. operates 152 retail grocery stores under the Pick 'n Save, Copps, Rainbow, and Metro Market banners in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
